We are pleased to announce the Autumn Term dates for the Wollaton Park Orienteering Festivals! There are two dates available, which are Wednesday 5th October 2011 and Wednesday 19th October 2011. The Festivals are available to Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 school pupils.


The Wollaton Park festivals are designed for pupils from Key Stage 2 to gain an introduction to the sport of orienteering with experienced and qualified coaches. Wollaton Park is an open area suited to a variety of orienteering exercises. This festival is suitable for pupils new to orienteering, as well as those with some experience.

Orienteering can contribute to many areas of the National Curriculum, especially maths (shape, space and measures), geography (skills) and PE (outdoor and adventurous activities).

Costs per child are �3.50 for both City and County schools, and group sizes are based on school class sizes.

These festivals are open to all schools on a first come first served basis. If you would like to take part in the events, please in the first instance, telephone Angela Dickson, Outdoor Learning Coordinator on 0115 947 6202 ext. 237 (Mondays and Tuesdays only) to agree a time and date.
