OLD BASFORD JUMP, THROW, AND RUN TO SHA VICTORY!!

Today saw the City finals of the Yr. 3/4 SHA event take place at Nottingham Trent University.

Six teams qualified for this event after completing the family heats and semi-final events which in total 31 schools took part.

As always we started on the track with the girlís obstacle relay event.
After the first 3 track races the team from Southwark were in the lead, the athleteís then took to the field events with 3 pupils from each school completing the chest push, standing long jump, balance test, vertical jump, speed bounce and javelin.

After the field events it was back over to the track relays and longer distance events, with each second counting the teams were really forcing out some fantastic close finishes.

Once the scores had been calculated the teams finishing in 6th-4th place were awarded certificates with the top 3 receiving SSN medals.

Huge congratulations to Old Basford for taking the gold medals. They really excelled on the field events and secured a strong lead going into the second round of track races. They now qualify for the County Yr. 3/4 event in the summer.
