Last night saw the Yr. 1/2 Key Step Gymnastics Competition take place after school at Ellis Guilford Sports Centre.
72 gymnasts from 8 schools (10 teams) competed on 3 events, performing routines on the Floor, Body Management and Bench.
Each gymnast performed on every event following the Key Step Level 1 routines. The routines were judged by the Ellis Guilford Sports Leaders with each score being added together to give an overall team score.
St Augustines had the highest scoring gymnast on the hardest event; body management, scoring an impressive 9.4.
The final team scores were extremely close with only 0.1 between the top 2 teams and 2.8 points between the top 5 schools.
It really is a great event to be part of with the KS1 pupils gaining their first taste of competition and representing their school.
Thank you to all of the parents and families who came to support their gymnasts and creating an enjoyable competition atmosphere.
Congratulations to the teams and staff from Our Lady OP who took the two top spots proving that all of the hard work and practice has paid off.
