SCHOOLS CAUSE A SPLASH AT CITY GALAS

School Sport Nottingham & Victoria Leisure Centre hosted four events last week through KS1-4 to determine the City's aquatic aces!

First up was the development gala for improving swimmers at KS2. Bluebell Hill Primary walked away with the honours. Robin Hood, Edale Rise and Rosslyn Park were hot on their tails though! Hopefully we will see some of these faces at the Championship event next year.

Tuesday saw the first KS2 Champioship event take place. Hempshill Hall took the spoils by a couple of points from Whitemoor. Third place was keenly contested, with St Margaret's nicking the bronze medal, with Bulwell St Mary's 4th and Burford in 5th.

Wednesday saw us jump up to the KS3 Championship with 7 teams participating. Trinity romped home to take the gold medal, with Bigwood an impressive 2nd and Fernwood in 3rd place. The following places were taken by Emmanuel, Bluecoat, Djanogly and Nottingham Girls Academy. Some terrific performances in every team and we are certain to see some of these swimmers in county and national squads soon.

Finally, the second of the KS2 Championship events took place on Friday, with possibly the loudest and hotly contested event of the week. Middleton Primary took the gold medal, followed by Out Lady and St Augustine's taking the remaining places on the podium. Blessed Robert narrowly missed out on a medal in 4th, with Scotholme and Sneinton following close behind.

A big well done to all of the schools that took part and we already have lots of schools having expressed an interest in next years events. If you would like to enter your school, please email why.nott@collegest.org.uk.

Thanks to all at Victoria Leisure Centre for their hard work, commitment and friendly faces throughout the week!
