The inaugural Secondary Schools Team Table Tennis Championships were held at Farnborough School on 30th April and served up a fantastoc evening of high quality table tennis.
5 schools took part, Farnborough, Nottingham Boys High School, Nottingham Academy, Hadden Park and Bluecoat, with each team having 4 players.
Players were seeded 1 - 4 and played their respective seeds from each school in a best of 3 set match.
After 40 matches Bluecoat came out on top to take the City title, with the 2nd and 3rd places a very tight affair only resolved after a second count back with Farnborough taking the silver and Hadden Park bronze.
Tournament organiser Heather Straker commented "The standard of play we have seen here tonight is a real testemony to all of the great work and coaching that is going on in schools. All players have performed to the highest standards and also shown great sportsmanship"
Bluecoat will now go through to respresent the City at the County School Games finals on 5th July.
