Were you inspired by the Olympic Oath promised by the athletes taking part in the Olympic Games?...Or are you a design whizz and fancy having your own logo put onto the next school games day merchandise?... well here’s your chance to shine!!
We are asking pupils of all ages, from KS2-KS5, to take part in the School Games logo design and athlete’s oath competition.
• The design must be inspired by the School Games Values
• The design must either be produced digitally or be hand drawn, scanned and converted to a JPEG file.
Send a one page summary providing a school name, teachers contact details, age group and a short explanation of the different elements used within the logo, and what inspired the design, along with the logo to the email address shown below.
Winning designs will be assessed in these categories: Key Stage 2, 3, 4 and 5.
All winning designs will be shown at the Nottinghamshire Summer School Games, with the overall winning design being professionally produced and used on future publicity material for the 2013-2014 Nottinghamshire School Games.
Athletes Oath Application:
‘’In the name of all the competitors I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport without doping and without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honour of our teams.’’ (Olympic Games Athlete Oath example)
• Written entries should make reference to all of the Sainsbury’s School Games values, directly or indirectly.
Open to all age groups, the winning entry will be read out by a young athlete at the Nottinghamshire Summer School Games Day on 5th July.
Entries from both competitions will be assessed by the Nottinghamshire School Games Organising Committee.
