In an enthralling Year 10/11 Girls Basketball Finals play off at the Wildcats Arena on 10th December, Big Wood showed their skills and prowess to take the City title.

In a 3 way play off event, Ellis Guilford, Nottingham Academy and Big Wood clashed in a series of games that produced high energy and excitement.

In the final play off game Nottingham Academy and Big Wood came together for a match that would decide the league title and with Nottingham Academy leading 6 - 3 at half time it looked like the team from Sneinton's name was on the trophy.

Big Wood however thought otherwise, and an exceptional second half display with a very high shooting to basket ratio saw them slowly claw their way back into the game and then hang on to a lead to win the game and league title 12 - 9 with Nottingham Academy picking up a well deserved silver and Ellis Guilford 3rd.

Big Wood will now go through to the County Finals at the Winter School Games event at Nottingham University on 14th February.
