The year 9 boys indoor cricket development league came to a thrilling climax on finals night on 29th November.
In the first semi - final Hadden Park and Ellis Guilford went head to head and produced one of the most thrilling finishes of the season. Going into the final 2 overs Hadden Parks score was zero, chasing 28 which appeared to give them little chance of a victory.
However, some excellent batting from the final pair got the total up to 27 with one ball left and when Ellis Guilford bowled a wide, which gave 2 extra runs, Hadden Park had a winning score of 29. However on the spare ball that followed panic set in and inexplicably the batsmen ran for an extra run and were run out, giving Ellis Guilford the victory.
In the second semi - final Top Valley dominated the game with a good score of 46 then restricted Farnborough to 33 to book their place in the final.
In the final Top Valley produced a near repeat semi final performance scoring 45 then working well as a unit in the field to cut Ellis Guilford to 29 to take their first Cricket title in the last 2 years.
In the bronze medal play off Hadden Park gained some consolation with a close 19 17 win over Farnborough.
