Why Nott? and the Adventure Team have joined forces to offer this years Orienteering Festivals, taking place at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park in February and March 2013.
Expert staff will lead each group through a number of age appropriate warm up exercises (approximately 30 minutes). This will consist of a number of activities to demonstrate how to orientate a map.
Teaching & support staff will then be able to lead groups through the historic grounds of Wollaton Hall, completing a fully mapped course and range of activities, provided by Adventure Team staff. Resources will also be provided. After approximately 1 and a half hours, return to base and assess the impact of the session with the Adventure Team instructors. Then, either return to school or spend the rest of the day in the deer park and hall.
Ideal for Key Stage 2 children meeting the Outdoor and Adventurous Activities requirement of the PE curriculum:

a. Take part in outdoor activity challenges, including following trails, in familiar, unfamiliar and changing environments
b. Use a range of orienteering and problem-solving skills
c. Work with others to meet the challenges.
