The City Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Union Tournament took place on Tuesday 24th April at Moderns Rugby Club, 1pm-3pm.
The rain thankfully held off for the afternoon allowing 7 schools across the City to bring a squad of 7-10 players. Twenty one matches were played over 3 pitches on a round robin format. The standard of play this year was extremely high with 109 tries scored over the duration of the afternoon with many matches being closely contended. Sportsmanship was shown at the end of each game with both teams shaking hands.
Milford and South Wilford A team nudged each together for gold right until the final match. Milford were finally awarded the gold medal on tries scored with South Wilford A team taking the silver. Both teams however will progress and represent the City at the upcoming County Finals on 30th May.
Bronze medals were awarded to St Augustine�s with School Sport Nottingham certificates being awarded to Dunkirk, Greenfields, South Wilford B and Walter Halls.
