The annual celebration of PE and school sport in Nottingham City will be held at Ellis Guilford School and Sports Centre, on Thursday 12th July between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
This is the 1st year the Awards evening has been held just for the Primary age group and will feature a review of the school sports year with video and photographic presentations of events, tournaments and competitions held throughout the year. This will showcase the achievements of individuals and school teams as well as raise the profile and awareness of the work of the School Games Programme.
Schools are invited to nominate pupils in the following categories for individual awards-
* Achievement/Excellence � for students who have gained representative honours at international, national and regional levels in any sports. There is also the opportunity for schools to be nominated if they have had any teams who have progressed significantly in regional or national competitions
*Sports Leaders/Volunteers � for students who have displayed outstanding dedication/initiative in sports leadership and voluntary work in their own schools or local community
*Effort & Participation � to recognise students who have made significant progress in sport and made a particular effort with their involvement and commitment
The deadline for nominations is Friday 25th May. A panel will then decide which pupils are to receive all awards and notify the schools concerned
