In Cargoes, artworks that have been created by artists and school-children will be conveyed along the East Midlands waterways by two narrowboats as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
Nottingham City Council�s Adventure Team and Ignite have joined forces to provide workshops in a unique environment for young people across the region.
Boats will set off from Loughborough in early April, one traveling North and the other South. Boats will call at destinations including Trent Lock, Leicester, Market Harborough, Wigston, Langley Mill, Cromford and Foxton providing a once in a lifetime opportunity for young people in Nottingham and surrounding areas.Artwork will be passed between artists and communities, culminating in a final celebration in Loughborough during the Olympic Torch celebrations on the 3rd July.
Day trips and half day workshops can be booked throughout the Summer term and prices start from �50 for city schools.
