The first School Sport Nottingham Year 1/2 Key Steps Gymnastics Competition took place on Friday 23rd March at the Wild Cats Arena (Nottingham Academy)
20 teams were entered from 10 schools across the City. Teams consisted of 6 gymnasts who all competed on the three disciplines- Vault, Body Management and Floor.
The children all took part in a mass group warm up before starting on their first apparatus. The Year 10�s and the Leadership Academy from Nottingham Academy all gave up their time and judged the children on their performances.
There was also a guest appearance from the 1948 Olympic Torch which the children all had chance to see and have their picture taken with.
The event was a great success with the teachers and staff all working very hard over past term to get the gymnasts ready for the competition.
Great performances were put in by all and certificates were awarded to every competitor. The top three teams all received School Games Medals. The final rankings were as follows:
