The Flames Festival 2012 took place last week, Thursday 22nd March, at Nottingham Trent University, 1m-3pm. The afternoon ended the 6 week after school Active Club Scheme for Year 3/4 pupils, which was run by the Year 1 students at Trent University.
Active Clubs are part of the British Heart Associations scheme to engage children in becoming more physically active, setting them tasks and activities throughout the day and challenging them to think about their own lifestyle and current exercise levels.
The afternoon was a great success with pupils from St Augustines, Westglade, Robin Hood, Hyson Green St Marys and Walter Halls all attending and taking part in a mix of games, challenges and activities. The event even had a visit from the 1948 Olympic Torch which was carried during the opening ceremony by the children. To see photos from the event please CLICK HERE
