School Sport Nottingham is pleased to offer you an Olympic Legacy Workshop taking place at Ellis Guilford School and Sport Centre on Tuesday 1st May.
The workshop will take place in the Sports Centre from 4pm-5.30pm and be delivered by CfBT, Lincolnshire School Improvement Service and Gaynor Nash, East Midlands Children & Young People Legacy Coordinator.
This event is designed to show you what is available to your school and share good practice examples and resources. It will look at how to utilise the ‘Olympic and Paralympic values’ across the curriculum as well as through cultural and sporting opportunities.
The workshop will also have a particular focus on the Live and Learn Like A Champion Legacy Log Award Scheme that has been successfully rolled out to schools in Lincolnshire and provides a student centred legacy award scheme for Key Stages 1-3. It will be ideal for schools to implement in the run up to the Olympic Games in the summer or as a legacy project in 2012 / 13.
“London 2012 presents a unique 'once in a lifetime' opportunity for your schools to use the magic of the Olympics and Paralympics to excite and enthuse learners. Not only can it inspire children to 'choose sport', as Seb Coe pledged it would, but it can inspire learning right across the curriculum and both support and influence your school's ethos and values. Please come along to find out how”
(Gaynor Nash East Midlands Children & Young People Legacy Coordinator)
