**SCHOOL GAMES ROADSHOW**

School Sport Nottingham is pleased to invite you to our School Games Roadshow.
The interactive Roadshows will provide you with a better insight into the School Games and how it can help your school by motivating and inspiring you with cross- curricular ideas and benefits of getting involved!

In the run up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, your school has the chance to boost your existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all your students.

The School Games is a celebration of competitive sport that will involve all young people in Primary and Secondary education, of all abilities and backgrounds.

The School Games is made up of four levels of competition:
Level 1: Intra-school competition, culminating in a School Games day
Level 2: Regular inter-school competition between schools at a local level
Level 3: Annual county/area culmination of inter-school competitions School Games Festivals
Level 4: National multi-sport event.

Using the unique power and energy of London 2012, now is the time to inspire everyone to take part!

Our children expect and deserve the best this means an approach to competitive school sport that is exciting, inclusive, well presented, offers a wide variety of sports and which gives other opportunities for pupils to get involved through cultural activities, organisation, officiating or volunteering. No matter what their experience, talent, ability or disability, the School Games will be open to all children. With competitions available at intra-school, inter-school and county/area level, there is a place for everyone.

The School Games is also designed to complement existing initiatives in your school which encourage a wide range of children to participate in sport such as Change4Life Sports Clubs.

The benefits of being involved will mean your pupils will be more active, fit and healthy as Physical Activity becomes a regular feature of their lives. Regular physical activity leads to better concentration and can help with behaviour by focusing attention in lessons and at break and lunchtimes. Competing in the numerous competitions available lead to a sense of team work, co-operation and collaboration skills, which transfer into the classroom. The Olympic and Paralympic values will relate to your schools ethos, reinforcing values and giving opportunities to celebrate success, belonging and drive staff and pupils to work together in unison.

Whether you have registered your school or not, come along to our Roadshow and start to develop your ideas and your own School Games calendar straight away!
